1968 Hall of Fame football team celebrates anniversary on Homecoming
One of the greatest football teams in Wildcat history will be honored at Homecoming Friday when the Wildcats face Dickson High School.
The 1968 Wildcats finished 10-1-1 and had the top defense in Oklahoma in all classes in points allowed, as they surrendered only 48 points in 12 games. Their only loss came in the state quarterfinals to Okmulgee Dunbar 13-12.
The festivities will begin 3:30-4:30 Friday afternoon in the gymnasium lobby. The players and their families can view the trophy case recognizing the four Hall of Fame classes that began in 2014. The team will have dinner at Gonzalez Restaurant from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and any former Wildcat players that were friends with members of this team are invited to attend.
The Hall of Fame team has been invited to speak with the 2018 Wildcat edition in the locker room before the contest and then will be introduced at halftime.
