Charles Ray Crone

Funeral services for Charles Ray Crone, an Atoka, OK resident, were held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at North Side Assembly of God Church in McAlester, OK with Brian Smith officiating. Burial was in Tannehill Cemetery in McAlester with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka.

Mr. Crone was born July 31, 1960 to James Daniel Crone and Mary Lou (Buffington) Ray at McAlester and passed away December 2, 2025 at Atoka, OK at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 2 days.

He graduated from Savanna High School and was a handyman and also worked in the oil field for several years and worked at Walmart.

Charles married Rosa Lee Herandy February 4, 1983 at North Town Church of Christ in McAlester. He enjoyed watching football, and wrestling and also enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He loved dancing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Herandy of the home; son, James Crone of Tushka; daughter, Mary Crone of Tushka; granddaughters, Kenzie Crone, Danielle Brown, both of Tushka and Norah Crone of Coalgate; grandson, James Ray Crone, Jr. of Coalgate; brother, Ronald Crone and wife Pam of Kiowa, OK; aunt, Joyce and Jim Henery of McAlester; Uncle Jerry Cole of Alderson, OK; brother-in-law, Jonathan Herandy of McAlester; sisters-in-law, Lisa Herandy, Teresa Herandy, both of McAlester and Tawana Ogle of Prague, OK; special nieces, Mary, Mona and Tara; many nephews; special friends/cousins, Eddie and Brandi Mullins; along with countless other loved ones and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Daniel Crone and Mary Lou (Buffington) Ray; sisters, Donna Snowden, Sandy Crone, and Sheila Crone; brother, Danny Crone; stepmother, Virginia Crone; stepbrother, Charlie Coons; stepsister, Rhonda Dean; stepdad, LT Ray; uncle Ricky Crone; along with numerous other aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents and loved ones.

Casketbearers were Randy Cole, Bobby Jo Mullins, Beaver Herandy, AJ Thomason, Cinch Thomason, Mona Thomason and Josh Crone; Honorary bearers were James Crone, Jimmy Cook, Eddie Mullins, Jim Henry and Jerry Cole.
