Coalgate Lady Cats improve their record to 17-13
The Lady Cats schedule was packed this week, playing 4 District games, back to back, on the road. Coalgate Lady Cats had a rough start with two tough losses earlier in the week against Silo and Latta. Coalgate turned their bats around against Wynnewood and they continued with a big win against Colbert to better the Lady Cats odd’s for a trip to Regional playoffs. This is what Head Coach Logan Brown had to say, “We played well and got some big wins at the end of the week after it got off to a rough start”. The the Coalgate week currently Lady Cats in end 3 rd place for District play, the top 4 teams will advance to Regionals.

Monday, September
10. Coalgate Wildcats Varsity 2 vs Silo 16. Silo Runs Away With Early Lead in VictoryCoalgate Lady Cats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-2 loss to Silo on Monday. Silo scored on a double, an error, and a single in the first inning. The Lady Cats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Silo, giving up 16 runs. Silo fired up the offense in the first inning and five runs in the fourth inning. Silo’s pitcher allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out ten and walking one. Chloe Brown was in the pitcher’s circle for Coalgate. She allowed 11 hits and 11 runs over three innings, striking out three. Annie Yanez threw one inning in relief. Rylie Wood led Coalgate with three hits in three at bats. Silo was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Silo stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one.
Tuesday, September
11 . Coalgate Wildcats Varsity 3 vs Latta 4. In Walk-off, Coalgate Lady Cats Loses To Latta. It came down to the last play, but the Coalgate Lady Cats were on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Latta on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Latta batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Lat-ta. Coalgate lost despite out-hitting Latta ten to seven. The Lady Cats opened up scoring in the first inning, when Annie Yanez singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Latta evened things up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning. Latta’s pitcher allowed ten hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out
six. Chloe Brown started the game for Coalgate, and went six and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out one. The Lady Cats had ten hits in the game. Katyn Denson, Brianna Hale, and Yanez all had multiple hits for Coalgate. Denson led Coalgate Wildcats Varsity with three hits in three at bats.
Wednesday, September 12 Coalgate Wildcats Varsity 12 vs Wynnewood. 34-Hit Day for Hale As Coalgate Lady Cats Skirts Past Wynnewood. Brianna Hale was dialed in at the plate on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading the Coalgate Lady Cats to a 12-3 win over Wynnewood. Hale singled in the third, singled in the fifth, tripled in the sixth, and tripled in the seventh. Coalgate fired up the offense in the first inning, when Annie Yanez doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Coal-gate scored four runs in the seventh inning. The Lady Cats big bats in the inning were led by singles by Jaxie Wilson and Rylie Wood and a triple by Hale. Chloe Brown led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Coalgate where she went seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking one. Wynnewood’s pitcher went all seven innings, allowing 12 runs on 15 hits and striking out three. Coalgate Lady Cats saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Hale, Yanez, Shea Linton, and Wood each racked up multiple hits for Coalgate. Hale led Coalgate with four hits in five at bats. Caitlyn Sandlin led Coalgate Lady Cats with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases on the day.

13 . Coalgate Wildcats Varsity 4 vs Colbert
1. Coalgate Lady Cats Takes the Win over Colbert. The Coalgate Lady Cats defeated Colbert 4-1 on Thursday. Coal-gate fired up the offense in the first inning. Annie Yanez drove in one when she singled. The Lady Cats scored three runs in the fifth inning, the scoring was off a single by Yanez, by Shea Linton, and an error on a ball put in play by Chloe Brown. Brown was in the pitcher’s circle for, she lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and one run while striking out two and walking one. Colbert’s pitcher surrendered four runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. The Lady Cats collected nine hits on the day. Yanez and Katyn Denson all managed multiple hits for Coalgate. Denson and Yanez each collected three hits to lead the Lady Cats on the day. Colbert totaled nine hits in the game and the Lady Cats were sure handed and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Denson had the most chances in the field with
six.
