Gardener Wayne Welty passes away

Gardener Wayne Welty, a Coalgate resident, passed away October 22, 2021 at Coalgate at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 22 days. Gardner was born June 30, 1944 to Gardner George and Louise Zelma (Self) Welty at Coalgate, OK. He graduated from Coalgate High School in 1962 and then attended some college. Gardner was self-employed doing home improvements. He was a Christian, saved a few days before his passing. Gardner loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed being with friends and enjoyed life.

Survivors include his son Gardner Lee Welty and wife Samantha Welty of Wilmington, NC; grandsons, Steven Welty and wife Carly, Michael Welty and wife Nicole, and Johnathan Welty and wife Sabrina, all of Wilmington NC; daughter, LaDonna Hanley and husband, Stephen of Seguin, TX; grandson, James Spears of San Antonio, TX; son, Gary Welty of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Gary Welty, Jr. of OK, Kayla Welty of AZ, Montana Price of KS and Camer-on Welty of Welch, OK; five great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Juanita Faye Spencer of Seguin, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gardner George and Louise Zelma (Self) Welty and sister Zella Mae Ledford.
