James Anderson

Funeral services for James “Jim” Edward Anderson, age 96, a longtime Coalgate, OK. resident, will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Brown’s Funeral Chapel, Coalgate, OK with Jamie Kay Maley officiating. Burial will be at Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Anderson was born on June 8, 1926 to Olen and Leona (Roller) Anderson, at Sherman, TX. And passed away January 9, 2023 at Coalgate, OK. at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 1 day. He graduated Coalgate High School where he played football as a guard. Jim then received a Bachelor’s Degree at Oklahoma State University. James proudly served in WWII as well as the Korean war. He married Sandra “Sandy” (Cook) Anderson on July 15, 1949 until her passing I 2005. James was a motion picture machine operator, owned Memories Bid and Breakfast, and was United State Navy Veteran. James was a stage hand steward, painted signs, teacher, artist, fireman, projectionist, Mason for 59 years, and member of VFW.

Survivors include his son, Joel Anderson and wife Joy of Bedford, TX; daughters Susan Gasca and husband Joe of Austin, TX. Jamie Maley and husband Michael of McAlester, OK. along with numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren He was proceeded by death by his parents, Olen Edward and Leona (Roller) Anderson, wife Sandra Carol Anderson; son, Tim Anderson; granddaughter, Julie Anderson; sister, Mildred Anderson and brother, Bill Anderson
