James Lee McNutt
James Lee “Jim” McNutt, age 70, a Lehigh resident, was born on May 25, 1954, to Albert Ray and Zoa Belle (Bagley) McNutt, at Tempe, AZ. Jim passed away on August 27, 2024 at Denison, TX at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 2 days. He attended Tempe, AZ Grade School until age 9, Cottonwood Public Schools and went on to Coalgate High School.
Jim traveled the world as an oil field consultant for many years until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jim married Sheila Kay Midkiff on October 5, 1971 at Coalgate First Baptist Church. They celebrated 52 years together before his passing. He enjoyed ranching and watching old westerns. Jim’s favorite times were spent with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sheila Kay McNutt of Lehigh, OK; children, Scotty McNutt and wife Gina of Coalgate, OK, Angela Dockrey and husband Garry of Shawnee, OK, Jeremy McNutt and wife Stephanie of Coalgate, OK, Caleb McNutt of Coalgate, OK; grandchildren, Shawntel Casey and husband Kendall, Makaylyn Mitchell and husband Josh, Taylor McNutt and wife Kylee, Tristan Franks and wife Toni, Madelyne Lenamond and husband Austin, Alex McNutt and wife Harley, Mersadey McNutt, Axel McNutt; 13 great grandchildren, Madison, Grant, Stryker, Loudyn, Brynlee, Gabe, Gunther, Presley, Raya, Elayna, Opel, Jaxson, Rocky, and 2 on the way, Lucy and Scottie; siblings, Barbara Bartlett of Texas, Larry McNutt and wife Belinda of Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dearly loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ray and Zoa Belle (Bagley) McNutt; great grandchildren, Katyn Powell, Lane Lenamond, Dawson Lenamond.
Services were held Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate and burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Casketbearers were Alex McNutt, Axel McNutt, Taylor McNutt, Josh Mitchell, Austin Lenamond, and Kendall Casey. Honorary bearers were Alvin Cagle, Jerry Battles, Ronnie Palmer, Don Battles, and Tristan Franks.
