Marilyn Jean (Wolfe) Tollett
Marilyn Jean (Wolfe) Tollett, was born on March 4, 1940 in Lehigh, Oklahoma to Wayne Eugene and Beatrice (Mills) Wolfe, and passed away on October 13, 2024 in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She attended Lehigh Elementary and Coalgate High Schools. She married Travis Gene Tollett on October 3, 1959. They had 48 years of happy marriage and had two children: David Wayne Tollett and Judy Carol (Tollett) Lambert.
Marilyn worked for several years at Smith’s Grocery in Coalgate, and later at Kuhlman’s Foods. She loved embroidery and working crossword puzzles, sitting on her porch and visiting with friends and neighbors, and drinking diet Dr. Pepper. Marilyn loved children and was “Nanny” to a whole generation of neighborhood kids. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Lehigh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Eugene and Beatrice (Mills) Wolfe; husband, Travis Gene Tollett; grandson, Gregory John Tollett. Survivors include son, David Wayne Tollett of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Judy Carol (Tollett) Lambert and husband Curtis of Redden, Oklahoma; sister, Alta (Wolfe) York; and special niece, Debbie York of Silo, Oklahoma; brother, Larry Wayne Wolfe and wife Polly of Spirit Lake, Idaho; grandchildren, Justin Tollett, Sara (West) Pearson and husband Cameron, Jared Tollett, all of Sherman, Texas; great grandchildren, Ethan Cannon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jaxson Tollett and Jaylan Benedict, all of Sherman, Texas; granddaughter-in-law, Wendy Tollett of Cayuga, New York.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no formal services held.
