Memorial Service to be Held for Shirley Louise Kelsey
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Shirley Louise Kelsey, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. Mrs. Kelsey was born October 7, 1956 to Otis Dewayne and Ruby Mae (Toombs) Farrell at Bakersfield, CA and passed away June 20, 2024 at Atoka, OK at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 13 days. She attended Utica School and married Thomas Lloyd Kelsey, Sr. at Durant, OK. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1999. Shirley was a housewife and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Shirley enjoyed playing games on her phone, playing the Wii, watching movies, especially vampire movies, and loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Kelsey and Gene Beasely of Bentley, OK and Jeannine Laney and husband Allen of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Dannie Kelsey, Shyanne Laney and Chase Tenequer, Lakrisha Bayles and husband Henry, all of Atoka, Anthony Kelsey of New York, NY, Nathaniel Burney, Eboni Burney both of Hoffman, OK, Juliana McCoy of Arlington, TX and Jordan Peterson and wife Trisha of Faulkner, MS; brothers, Lynn Farrell and wife Lonie of Tupelo, OK, Junior Farrell and wife Margaret of Atoka, Ollen Farrell of OK and Ronnie Sheffield of Durant, OK; sisters, Barbara Wolf and husband Ronnie of Duncan, OK, Regina Sheffield and Lonnie Colston, Judy Sheffield, Doris Sheffield and husband Arter, all of McAlester, OK, Loretta Williams and husband Marcus, Kay Bloxham, Vickie Branch all of Kemp, OK and Rebecca Murr of Durant, OK; along with multiple greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Dewayne Farrell, Sr.; mother and stepdad, Ruby Mae Sheffield and William Sheffield; husband, Thomas Lloyd Kelsey, Sr. and sisters, Patricia Parker and Faye Hatton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka, OK.
