Funeral services for Freda Louise (Carnes) Ott, a Coalgate resident, will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Tina Clem and Robyn Blanton officiating. Burial will be in Lonestar Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ott was born March 18, 1941 to Ellis Sr. and Evelyn (Bohanon) Carnes at Talihina, OK and passed away December 2, 2023 at her home in Coalgate at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 24 days. She attended school at Coalgate and married Elder Virgil Oliver Ott on August 14, 1957 at Coalgate. They were married 52 years before his passing on May 10, 2010. Louise worked at Wrangler and was a field office worker for Choctaw Nation for many years. She was a longtime member of the Lonestar Church. Louise loved being outdoors working in her garden and liked to go shopping and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved her Choctaw heritage and was a big part of the District 12 Senior Citizens’ group. Louise had a special bond with her dog, Peanut. Most of all, Louise loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

Survivors include her children, Mary Lynn Ott-Clem, Tina Clem, Mel Ott and wife Gina, all of Coalgate; fifteen grandchildren, Cassandra Salinas and Joey Garside, Jennifer Garcia and husband F, Joshua Ott and wife Amber, Anthony Martinez and wife Arien, Jacob Ott and wife Chelsea, Raven Ott, Carrie Clem, Katie Ott, Brooke Sharp and husband Vashon, Clinton Schuhmacher and wife Zelia, Gaven Ott and wife Alyssa, Robyn Blanton and husband Shawn, Noah Clem and Sarah Tooley; 18 greatgrandchildren, Caleb Perry, Koda Wainscott, Kyleigh and Kaden Ott, Kendyl Lytle, Fjord and Axel Blanton, Anthony, Aaron and Amelia Garcia, Oliver Martinez, Summer and Bailee Sharp, Elena Schuhmacher, Elise Martinez, Elijah Schuhmacher, Ella Grace Ott and Keira Ott; brother, Ellis Carnes Jr. of Phillips, OK; beloved dog, Peanut; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ott; parents, Ellis Sr. and Evelyn (Bohanon) Carnes; siblings, Amos Carnes, Mark Cole, Ellen Cole and Tom Cole; sons-inlaw, Steve Clem, Rick Clem and Joe Salinas; great-granddaughter, Thalia Wren Louise Ott; children, Vince Ott and Carrie Gayle Salinas.

Casketbearers will be Caleb Perry, Koda Wainscott, Noah Clem, Gaven Ott, Joey Garside, Shawn Blanton. Honorary bearers will be James Frazier, Joey Brown, Justin Johnson, Ellis Carnes, Jr.
