Paula Jeannine Hall
Paula Jeannine (Leister) Hall died on October 1, 2024. She passed peacefully at her home in Redondo Beach, CA, at the age of 89 surrounded by family. Born on October 7, 1934 to Dovie (Wilson) Leister and Paul Byron Leister in Coalgate, OK, Paula graduated Coalgate High School in 1952. She retired from a 25-year career as a proposal operations editor for TRW (now Northrop Grumman). During her life she enjoyed travel, especially for family and reunions, created award winning quilts, achieved Life Master status with the ACBL, and held leadership and supporting roles with the Clan MacMillan Pacific Branch and the 70th Infantry Division Association. She dearly loved her family, weekly bridge and mahjongg friends, and always enjoyed a gathering especially when she was hosting. The definition of grace, she will be profoundly missed.
Paula is survived by her sons Gregory Neil Deaton and Austin Paul Deaton, her daughters Susan Dale (Hall) Wall and Janean Leann Hall, her grandchildren Niecia Rae Foster, Thomas Lynn Deaton, Jeffrey Scott Hanna, Brette Alexandria Hanna, Carole Rae Szymanski Peters, Marley Jade Wall, and Chloe Juniper Wall, her great granddaughter Arah Jasmine Gomez, her great-great granddaughter Amaya Lydia Arana, and brother Lyman Jean Leister. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Dale Hall (2016), son Mark Christopher Deaton (1997), and brother Myron Del Leister (2024). Memorial services will be held on October 26, 2024 at Lighthouse Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA, with viewing at 9am and service at 10am. A short reception will follow the service. An interment service will be held on October 28, 2024 at 1pm at Riverside National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
