Service Friday for Eunice Lois Reed

Funeral services for Eunice Lois Mayo Dwiggins Reed, a lifetime Atoka resident, will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Bentley Cemetery, Bentley, Oklahoma with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements. Family night is Thursday 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Dwiggins was born June 28, 1935 to Harvey George and Florence (Callicoat) Mayo at East Alison, Atoka County, OK and passed away September 22, 2019 at Atoka, OK at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 25 days. She attended Bentley School and graduated from Atoka High School. Eunice married Garland Duster Dwiggins on September 26, 1956 at Coalgate and then married Charles M. Reed. Sr., March 14, 1987 at Bentley, OK. She worked as a cook many years for Bentley, Harmony and Atoka Schools.

Eunice was a longtime member of Bentley Baptist Church. She and her husband Charles donated the land and helped establish and build the New Hope Baptist Church on Sawmill Road in Atoka. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, flowers and her animals.

Survivors include her husband, Charles M. Reed, Sr. of the home; son, Glen Dwiggins of Bentley, OK; step-children, Judith Ann Robinson and husband Joe of Lamar, OK, Charles M. Reed, Jr. and wife Karla Jo of Okmulgee, OK, Robert Lee Reed, Sr. of Council Hill OK Teresa Marie Todd and ,

husband Trace of Vinita, OK, John F. Reed of Okmulgee, Carla Jean Epperson of Tulsa, and Jeffrey Reed of Muskogee; brothers, Curtis Mayo and wife Wanda of Blue, OK and Wayne Mayo and wife Roberta of Whitesboro, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved and cherished her babies and spending

time with them. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and many dear and loved friends.

Those preceding her in death were her husband, Garland Dwiggins; parents, Harvey George and Florence (Callicoat) Mayo; son Gilbert Dwiggins and step-daughter, Patricia Jo Reed.

Casketbearers will be Mark Byroads, Chris Byroads, James Whitaker, Robert Reed, Brandi Radebaugh, Amber Lara and Maria Bahe.
