Service Friday for Stella Marie Brothers

Funeral services for Stella Marie (Bronsema) Brothers, a Burkburnett, TX resident, formerly of Atoka, will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 at 1:30 at South Atoka Church of Christ with Bro. Joe Ware officiating. Burial will be in Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brothers was born October 1, 1924 to Hero B. “Hank” and Minnie (Greenwood) Bronsema and passed away January 19, 2020 at Burkburnett, TX at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 18 days. She attended Midway and Lehigh Schools and graduated from Coalgate High school. Stella married William (Wendall) Raymond Brothers. He preceded her in death September 12, 1979. Stella was a housewife and homemaker. She also worked for years at Cox Jewelry in Atoka and the jewelry counter at Wal-Mart. Stella was a longtime member of South Church of Christ and enjoyed church functions and activities. She enjoyed visiting with friends, sewing, crossword puzzles, writing letters and reading. Her favorite author was Danielle Steele.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Melba Brothers of Durant, OK; grandsons, Jeremy Brothers and wife Cassie of Dunvall, OK, Bobby Brothers and wife Eryn of Oklahoma City, OK and Michael Brothers and wife Maria of Durant, OK; longtime close friend, Zelma Self of Stringtown, OK; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary Brothers; and siblings, Hazel Irene, Ella Leona, Harry Leon, Retha May, Letha Fay, Juanita Louise, Fred Richard and Bobby Gene.

Casketbearers will be Phillip Self, Johnny Self, Randy Mashburn, Richard Lillard, John Fugate and Stephen Keeler. Honorary bearers will be Dicky Page, Floyd Keeler and Marion Hyatt.
