Walter Allen Nichols Laid to Rest
A celebration of life was held recently for Walter Allen Nichols. He was born October 19, 1947 in Coalgate, OK to Henry Nichols and Elsie May Jameson and passed away peacefully August 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Walter retired as a Navy Chief Petty Officer after 23 years of honorable and dedicated service He was known for his kindness, humor and devotion to his family.
Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and driving country roads. He loved watching game shows, including “The Price Is Right” which he was also able to attend once, and old western movies. Walter was married to Priscilla Nichols, whom he wed in the Philippines. They shared 46 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Nichols of Broken Arrow, OK; children, Janice and Nicholas Heidingsfelder of Honolulu, HI, Henry Nichols of Coalgate, Joy and Timothy Goldesberry of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Cameron and Sam Nichols, Jillian and Chandler Heidingsfelder, and Shepard Goldesberry; sister, Diana Willis of Chandler, AZ and sister-in-law, Dovie Nichols of Coalgate; along with many nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Nichols and Elsie May Lane Jameson, as well as his brothers, Buck, Sam, Bill, Johnny and Joe Nichols and sisters, Jesse Ann Nichols, Marie Tuck, Mary Dority and Evie Casey.
Walter’s ashes will be placed in the Bohannon Cemetery in Hughes County.
