Paul Clayton Armer
Funeral services for Paul Clayton Armer, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coalgate with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Interment was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night was Sunday evening 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Paul was born on August 16, 1944 to Luther Evert and Charlotte (Kupiec) Armer at Phillips, Oklahoma. He passed away December 21, 2024 at his home in Coalgate surrounded by loved ones. Paul was 80 years, 4 months and 5 days old. He graduated from Coalgate High School. Paul was a security guard at the McAlester Ammunition Plant for more than 20 years until his retirement. He married Eva Rose Reed on July 24, 1965 at Coalgate. They were blessed with 59 years together. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an accomplished wood carver. Paul liked gardening, riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. He could often be found watching westerns and FOX News.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Rose Armer of the home in Coalgate; daughter, Rita Gail Armer of Oklahoma City; sister, Betty Armer Cook and husband George of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Lelahla Armer of Beggs, OK, Ruby Archer and husband Dolphus of Tupelo; Brenda Coffee and husband Jimmy of Coalgate; brotherin-law, Ed Reed and wife Carol of Coalgate; nieces and nephews, Juanette Kay McAlister and husband James, Julie Reece and husband Leon, David Cook and wife Gretchen, Stacie Woody and husband Robert, Heather Wood and husband Eddie, Joel Coffee and wife Kara and Kenneth Coffee; a very special niece, Lou Ann Christmas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Evert and Charlotte (Kupiec) Armer; siblings, Evert Armer, Mary Armer Cobbs and Don Armer; pet friend and companion, Jack Russell Armer.
Honorary casketbearers were Arthur and Marie DePasse, Harold and Gwenda DePasse, Billy and Polly Haworth, Dwight Delsigne and Mike Jones.
