Years ago, as elementary students at a tiny country school, our bus driver took us to school in his huge station wagon. That meant we kids got to talk with him for an entire hour – both ways. Good-natured and chatty, he would entertain us as he drove. True stories, gigantic whoppers, or funny gossip, it was all fair game to that man.

Nowadays, identifying with a gender-and deciding to be that gender- rapidly seems to be becoming the norm. Some parents have decided, and actually encourage very impressionable young Juniors and Juniorettes to choose for themselves who and what they are. Nothing based on biological anatomy, but simply upon, “This is what I think and feel, therefore I am.”
Read moreI like to watch old movies. Pat and I watched the 1978 production of “Grease” this past week. Paramount spent $6 million on this movie and made all their money back on the first weekend it was released. In case you forgot, it was about teenagers living in the ancient American times of the 1950’s and it is a musical. John Travolta plays the “Greaser” and his pretty little girlfriend is Olivia Newton John. The setting is in a California High School whose principal is Eve Arden and whose coach is played by Sid Caesar who hasn’t won a game in 7 years.
