Atoka County boy killed in stock trailer accident

A 15-year-old boy died Sunday after he was hit by a stock trailer on private property east of Tushka in Atoka County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the boy was helping the 40-year-old male driver of the pickup guide the 20-foot trailer when he was pinned between the trailer and a tree. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The OHP report lists the cause of the accident as an obscured field of view while backing the vehicle. The incident was investigated by Trooper Tommy Allen of the Atoka County Detachment. He was assisted by Troopers Kevin Miller and John Fugate of the Atoka County Detachment, Tushka Fire Department, Tushka Police Department, and Atoka EMS.
