It’s Coalgate football homecoming time!

Shamrock Bank will kick off the 2018 football homecoming with their traditional tailgate party on the bank parking lot. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Other events scheduled for Friday include face painting for 50 cents at Emerson Elementary by the Coalgate Education Association, a pep rally at the school gymnasium beginning at 12:50, and a parade through downtown Coalgate following the pep rally (approximately 1:30). In case of excessive rain, the parade will be cancelled. This year’s parade theme is, “The Wildcats are out of this World.”

Parents of elementary age students wishing to enter a bike into competition should contact Ms. Shockey at Emerson Elementary. No tricycles/no training wheels, please. Also, animals are not allowed in the parade.

Community members who would like to participate in the parade should line up on Railroad Street behind the gymnasium at 1:00. Places in line are first come, first serve and depend upon float, bike and student organization placement. The 2018 coronation will begin at 6:45 prior to the Coalgate-Dickson game. Kick off time is 7:30.
