Service Thursday for Martin David Brown

Martin David Brown, age 78, an Olney resident, was born on March 18, 1944, to Herbert A. and Alice Martha (Williams) Brown, at Olney, OK. Martin passed away on October 1, 2022.

He attended Olney School. Sixty years of fixing things earned him the reputation of one of the best mechanics around. He is known by his 10 Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as Papa Brown. He owned his own mechanic shop at his residence in Olney. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, mowing and could fix and make about anything.

Mr. Brown is survived by Children: David Brown and Naudrea of Wapanucka, OK, Twyla Collins of Olney, OK, Cindy Daniel and husband John of Coalgate, OK. Grandchildren: Rachel Graham and husband Kris of Centrahoma, OK, Amber Myers of Coalgate, OK, Marvin Brown and wife Ashley of Wagner, OK, Ricki Braziell and Chris of Calera, OK, Eric Finch and wife Chelsea of Lehigh, OK, Nathaniel Daniel and wife Kenna of Goldsby, OK, Samuel Daniel of Coalgate, OK, Ruth Daniel of Coalgate, OK, Joseph Daniel of Coalgate, OK, Benjamin Daniel of Coalgate, OK. Great-grandchildren: Kodi, Kasen, Roper, Parker, Hudson, Adalynn and Kameron, Siblings: Philip Brown and wife Patsy of Olney, OK, Lyle Brown of Granite, OK, Tim Brown of Cottonwood, OK, Maxine Brown of Shawnee, OK, Beth Williams and husband Lonnie of Wardville, OK, Jeanette O’Flannagan and husband Jim of Olney, OK, Sister- in-Law: Frances Brown of Phillips, OK. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends Martin was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert A. and Alice Martha (Williams) Brown, Siblings: Elton Brown, Marcellus Brown, Mike Brown and wife Idell, Victor Brown, Melba Gayler (Brown) and husband Billy Ray Gaylor Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel, with Zane Brecheen officiating.
