Memorial service for Donnie Ingram, a Coalgate resident, will be held on July 2 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church, Stringtown. Mr. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olive Cemetery, near Stringtown. The ceremony will be casual. In Donnie’s honor, wear overalls or your “coolest” or “funniest” t-shirt (appropriate prints please.)

Funeral services for Robert Mose Cooper, a lifelong Atoka resident, were held Friday, June 17, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Coal Creek Presbyterian Church in Atoka, OK with Rev. Sara Sherrill officiating. Burial was in Nowabbi Family Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Read moreAt approximately 2:00pm on May 29,2022, Wesley Elliot came to the Coal County Sheriff’s Office to report that his house had been burglarized. He stated the door had been forced open resulting in damage to the residence. He stated that there were numerous items missing, including checks from his banking account. Mr. Elliot advised the deputies that he was contacted by his bank about two checks from his account that someone had attempted to deposit into another account. The checks were made out to Reva Smith, one for $1300.00 and the other for $700.00. The checks were flagged for suspicious activity.
