Richard Kent Howe
Funeral services for Richard Kent Howe, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. a Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Lyle Shipley officiating, assisted by Gary Hensley. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Kent was born July 26, 1944, to Walter Robert and Lillian Mae (Wood) Howe at McAlester, OK and passed away August 16, 2022 at Oklahoma City at the age of 78 years, and 21 days. He graduated from Coalgate High School Class of ‘62.
Kent was a Union Electrician and a Union Teamster since he was 18 years old. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Electrician Union. Kent enjoyed horses, breeding racehorses, and going to horse races. He loved taking pictures and his favorite times were spent with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Lisa Howe and fiancé, Warren Wilson of Tishomingo, OK, Hank Howe and significant other, Jamie Mathews of Marietta, OK and Donnann Tritten and husband Dan of Roscoe, IL; grandchildren, Dilyn Hart, Emilyn Hart, Colyn Hart, Marion Wilson, Morgann Wilson, Dalton Howe, Allisyn Howe, Coleby Howe, Brooklyn Powell, Bailey Crites, Bree Hughes and Maddy Tritten; numerous greatgrandchildren; sister, Jahree Standridge of Coalgate along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dearly loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Robert and Lillian Mae (Wood) Howe, grandson, Danny Tritten, and sister, Peggy Grubb.
Casket bearers were Shannon Cagle, Donovan Cagle, Dakota Powell, Greg Williams, Arnem Hunt and Gary Hensley. Honorary bearers were Harry Farris, Gaylin Childers, Mike Vaughn, Gary Vaughn, Eddie Anglin, Jimbo Eclair, J. Don Flint, Junior James, Barbara Farris, and Dale Powell.
