Earlier this year a study on the future of families was reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. One of the study’s authors was Dr. Deigo Alburez-Gutierrez, a scholarly gent who researches and writes about family relationships. This study affirmed what I was beginning to notice in my own group of relatives, namely, families are getting older and smaller and the age gap between the youngest and oldest is widening.

Funeral services for Frank Lee Forneris, a Coalgate resident, will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor David Unsell officiating. Burial will be in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Paula (Forneris) Ennis, a shining star, left this world listening to “Jesus Hold MY Hand”onThursday,September 12, 2024, at the tender age of 80, surrounded by her loved ones in her home. Born on May 2, 1944, in the iconic rock building behind the post office in Coalgate to Frank & Beatrice (Cornelius) Forneris. Paula was a beacon of strength, sister to three brothers: Frank, John Ray & Benny-so she had to learn to be tough. She was a 1962 graduate of Coalgate High School. Her marriage to Daymond Dale Ennis on October 21, 1962, was a remarkable 62-year journey, blessed with three children, Kevin, Ronnie & Kimberly.
