Doris Marlene (Mixon) Awtrey, a longtime Lane, OK resident, passed away October 3 , 2022 at Calera, OK at the age of 88 years and 18 days. She was born September 15, 1934 to John E. and Elta (Gillham) Mixon at Maud, OK. Doris graduated from Atoka High School and then went on to attend SOSU. She was a housewife and homemaker and married Thomas Awtrey January 12, 1955 at Amarillo, TX. They celebrated 64 years of marriage before his passing on November 29, 2019. Doris worshiped at the Church of the Rock. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, working in flower beds, mainly roses, and loved spending time with her family.

On October 13 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Chief Destin Wilkerson conducted a traffic stop for speeding on a 2019 Ford Escape that was traveling north on S.H. 48 vehicle. When speaking to the driver, identified as Nayelli A. Magana Morales, 28, of Idabel, Chief Wilkerson detected an odor commonly associated with burnt marijuana.

City of Coalgate Police Report

Coalgate woman charged with threatening to perform acts of violence and criminal trespassing Officer Dyllan Brown and Officer Dylan Kimmel were dispatched to an apartment at the Levy annex the evening of October 7 concerning 44-year-old Kristy Diane Franklin for trespassing. Sgt. Kevin Parry was dispatched to the same apartment on October 5 when Franklin allegedly assaulted the resident of the same apartment and was given a trespass notice.
